Ciara and Darren

30th September 2021

We are so excited to invite you to celebrate our special day with us. Each and everyone of you visiting this page has played an important role in our lives and we really do appreciate that. We hope that this site will provide you with all the information you need to plan your trip and we are so looking forward to having a glass or two of Aperol with you in beautiful Italy.

How to get there

Sirmione is located in the north of Italy on the Sirmio peninsula that divides the lower part of Lake Garda. The closest airport is Verona. Venice and Milan Bergamo are also nearby. Public transport in Italy is pretty good. However if you do decide to rent a car make sure to check that your accommodation has parking and remember they drive on the wrong side of the road 🙂

Where to stay

There are so many hotels and Air BnBs around Sirmione so to be honest we’d just suggest looking online and finding what suits you best. We will be planning some drinks and food the day before and day after the wedding in Sirmione so don’t stay too far away.

The fun stuff

The evening before the wedding

We would love everyone to have the chance to meet each other so we will be putting on some drinks and light bites in a venue TBC in Sirmione – planning for 17:30 – 19:30. We won’t keep you too late as we all need to be fresh and energetic for the wedding day!

The wedding

The wedding ceremony will take place at 3pm in Chiesa di Santa Maria della Neve. (Ladies: It is advisable to have a very light shawl to cover your shoulders in the church if your dress is strapless / thin straps)
After the church we will be transporting everyone to the venue, Convento dell’Annunciata. It will take a little over half an hour. Upon arrival at the venue you will be fed and watered to your heart’s content. Beer, wines and nibbles to start with followed by a sit down meal, more drinks and then of course sweet treats, dancing and well some more drinks!
It can get a little chilly in the evenings & the intention is to be outside so we’d suggest bringing something light to throw over your shoulders.
The bus back to Sirmione will leave at 01:30 and leave you near the castle,  however if you don’t think you will last until then don’t worry , we will have details of a local taxi company.

The day after the wedding

We can’t let the party end there can we ! Time for some more food and drinks. The venue is still TBC but it will be close to the castle. We will update this page with more information so stay tuned!

Other bits

The dreaded C word – COVID! We are of course keeping an eye on all COVID guidelines. Should there be any drastic changes concerning travel we will update you accordingly on the plan. We do not want to put anyone at risk.  We will do whatever we can to ensure your safety and ask that you do the same for everyone else – mask up when & where required, sanitise regularly and most importantly get vaccinated! You may require proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the wedding venue.

PLEASE RSVP BY 31st August
